AUM Concludes the 3-Day Training Program
As the three-day training program drew to a close, the final training session brought together the knowledge and insights gained earlier in the week and directed them toward the practical realities of the classroom.
It emphasized practical classroom management skills and the development of educational leadership among new teachers. The program addressed the critical need to create motivating learning environments that foster positive interactions between teachers and students while preparing educators to take on leadership roles within their schools.
Key topics included effective classroom management techniques for organizing the learning environment and managing student behavior, systematic problem-solving methods to address everyday educational challenges, and project-based learning approaches to encourage critical and creative thinking. Participants also explored the Six Thinking Hats technique, which applies different thinking modes—creative, critical, emotional, logical, optimistic, and pessimistic—to enhance intellectual flexibility among students. Additionally, sessions focused on educational leadership, empowering teachers to act as motivators, role models, and agents of positive change within their schools.
Throughout the day, teachers engaged in interactive and cooperative activities, including brainstorming sessions to address common classroom challenges, role-play simulations of real classroom situations, practical workshops for designing mini-classroom projects, and group exercises using the Six Thinking Hats to explore diverse perspectives. Discussion sessions also allowed teachers to reflect on educational leadership concepts and learn from real-life successful experiences in schools.
The program aimed to equip teachers with practical classroom management skills, the ability to integrate diverse thinking strategies into planning and assessment, and the capacity to serve as educational leaders and positive role models. By the end of the day, participants were expected to demonstrate their ability to foster disciplined and motivating learning environments, encourage creativity and problem-solving, and assume leadership roles that guide students toward academic and personal growth. The program was designed for new teachers at schools affiliated with the General Secretariat of Christian Educational Institutions in Jordan and was delivered by Dr. Hanan Madanat and Dr. Nadine Khair.
The 3-day training program concluded with an honoring ceremony held at the Presidency of the American University of Madaba, where the contributions of all those who played a role in the success of the training were recognized.
Through these three comprehensive training programs, the American University of Madaba, in partnership with the General Secretariat of Christian Educational Institutions, reinforced its shared mission of preparing highly skilled, adaptable, and innovative educators.
